SkyAngel uses a software which is constantly adding new features and issung bug fixes, if any.

This is also used in over 65 countries, so it has been thoroghly tested for accuracy and reports.

Our currently available GPS Tracking and Telemetry software solutions support multiple platforms and includes the following features:

• Fully configurable generation of targeted event types: Including: start, in-motion, stop, dormant, excessive speed, odometer triggered, geofence arrival/departure, temperature out-of-range, trailer drop/hook detection, secure corridor violation, digital inputs/outputs, and more.
• Full custom event packet negotiation: This means that custom data packets can be defined on the client device which contains only the specific required data, thus reducing wireless data transmission costs.
• Network efficient, low bandwidth: The communication protocol has been designed to provide all required telemetry data from the remote device in an extremely network efficient manner. The device could be configured to generate an event every 2 minutes 24 hour a day, 30 days a month, and still be under 1 megabyte of transmitted data. This allows a significant reduction in the cost of the wireless dataplan required to communicate with the device.

• Supports multiple client devices: The client device software is available for J2ME (Java) capable devices, embedded Linux devices, and Windows CE/Mobile devices. The client software can even be configured to run on Windows XP laptops and devices when required. All of these devices can then communicate with the same server-side software.
• Supports many types of peripheral modules and sensors: Available modules and sensors include: Temperature monitoring, Trailer drop/hook detection and identification, etc.
• Back-office communication server: The basic backend server which can communicate with the client device is also available. The purpose of the server is to obtain and store events read from the client device, and provide the server side of the custom event packet negotiation. The actual datastore is configurable. Both MySQL, and SQL server, datastores are provided. Additional datastores may be implemented by using the defined interface.
• Configurable rules-based event notification: Based on a defined set of rules, incoming server events can be analyzed and email notifications sent. For instance, a rule can be defined stating that a given vehicle should not leave it's home terminal on a weekend. If the defined rules determine that the vehicle has in fact left the yard on a weekend, an email notification will automatically be sent.

Tracking Portal

This is protected using a custom encryption to store passwords, so that even if read, will not be usable.
Standard MySQL (database) securities are also implemented.

Along side, we change DATABASE passwords once a month (this is not noticible to the users)
We suggest users change their passwords regularly, or obtain a secondary account that is restricted and VIEW-ONLY for other employee's or clients who you may want to give access to.

On your menu select SMS menu
Under SMS menu there is a Me2U feature, clicking the Me2u feature gives you two options:
- Send airtime
- Change password
Select the send airtime option, write the required denomination, then the password and then ok.

Send Credit - Method 2

Go to messages, select Write message, then type:
2u [space] <phone number> [space] <amount> [space] <password>
For example to send KES.100 to 0733 456789
Simply type: 2u 0733456789 100 1234 and send the sms to 5050. You can choose to transfer any amount. The default password is 1234. You should change the default password to a new 4-digit number, which only you know.

How to change your password

Method 1

This applies to SIM cards that have been updated and are 32K SIM cards. Select change password, enter your current password (Default, i.e. 1234) Then you will be required to enter a new password and you confirm it. For example to change Pin to 5678
Type 1234
New password = 5678
Confirm new password = 5678
Then press Ok.
The password is for security purposes. It is advisable to change the default password to a password of your choice.

Method 2

Select messages on your menu, opt for write messages. Type in the message below:
Pin [space] <old password> [space] <new password> and send to 5050
For example for change your password from 1234 to 5678
Simply type: Pin 1234 5678 and send the sms to 5050.

SMS charges are standard, and more if out of the country of the local SIM Provider. (Contact ZAIN KENYA for more details on this)

DATA charges are incredibly minimal. We have estimated that about 1,700 position updates would cost about KES 20.00.
So even with a PRE-PAID cellular line, you won't be topping-up too often!

The internal battery lasts upto 36 hours.
The device can either be used ONLY on external power (when the car is switched on) or use the internal battery until it dies.

GPS Device

SMS commands, which allows retrieving of positions and changing of ALL settings is protected by a unique USERNAME and PASSWORD.
The username and password can be requested at purchase or one will be provided by us. You may change these settings whenever you wish using a command.

(Command List is only sent once a company opens an account with us during a purchase)

Our devices have an inbuild memory to store positions if it cannot connect to CELLULAR GPS or SMS.

As soon as cellular service reconnects, just like will a mobile phone, it will send data to our server, or send the requested SMS.

You may use ANY carriers SIM card, as long as it is data enabled.
We have tested multiple carriers signal qualities from KAMPALA, UGANDA all the way to MOMBASA, KENYA!

We learned that ZAIN sim cards have the best coverage overall. There are some places without signals, but our SA101 has an inbuilt memory, which can store positions and update the server when the device comes back online.

We may provide PRE-PAID ZAIN SIM CARDS with orders, but we do not pay for the SIM card usage.
We believe it is best for the client to pay directly for what data/SMS's are used, this is cheaper in the long run.

We also have a special POST-PAID deal with ZAIN KENYA. For 2,000/- only, you can get a Post-Paid SIM Card through us.
Charges will be added on your newly opened account (you can have a company account for managing costs) and only when used (just like pre-paid).
